We adopt the phases approach throughout all our workbooks, which employ key psychological principals in recall, knowledge, application, and testing phases. The structured workbook clearly identifies the knowledge that students are required to understand when answering exam questions. Our booklets provide our students with exam-style questions in which they apply the knowledge and finally uses real exam questions from previous years to test their knowledge. This approach eliminates low-level revision methods by encouraging active engagement with the exam content and key retainment of knowledge- resulting in a much more efficient method to tackling exams.

We provide our students with resources that ensure their revision is actively helping them achieve the results they deserve and assist them when organising their knowledge, making use of the ‘Knowledge Organisers’! We also use past papers and go through the mark schemes which we believe are a crucial part of our revision resources, which allow tutors to offer tailored feedback to the revision process. We can identify our students stronger and weaker areas that we can focus and improve upon on within our 1-2-1 sessions.

Explore Apollo Tuition offer Online GCSE tuition sessions for both Foundation and Higher tier Maths and Science GCSE for all UK exam boards, as well as Combined and Triple Science specifications. We provide GCSE English Literature and Language tuition by our team of subject experts!

Maths  

We offer tuition for both Foundation and Higher GCSES. It is necessary for all our students to have a deep understanding of the content, structure, and the importance of approaching the exam questions with confidence, which our 1-2-1 tutoring sessions teach in detail.

Through using past exam questions and the mark schemes, students can truly master exam technique and fully develop the practical skills required when completing a GCSE Maths exam. Our tutors cover all content for student’s exam specifications and tailor each session to ensure that students can improve in their weaker areas.

English Language 

GCSE English Language requires students to be able to write formal letters, speeches, creative writing and analyse texts.

Our team of English Language specialists teach students how to approach English Language exams and what specifically exam markers are looking for within their writing. Or sessions mainly use past exam papers and mark schemes as the principal revision resources that enable children to distinguish what they must include when completing their exams.

Our main priority is ensuring that your child receives the support and guidance they need during the exam preparation period. While working on techniques for the exam, the lessons will also include crucial development on spelling, punctuation and grammar which are essential for the English language GCSE.

English Literature 

The complex texts within the English Literature specification, ranging from poetry to 19th-century novel and all other aspects of the exam are covered within our tutoring sessions. Our tutors focus upon the key skills, such as structuring writing, to ensure they reach their full potential. We offer constant constructive feedback for students to understand what is required of them for the GCSE English Literature exam.

Science  

Science exam questions can be very tricky, but the content is extremely interesting. At Explore Apollo we teach both combined and triple science, in higher and foundation. Our tutors recognise the importance of understanding the questions and being able to write answers using specific terminology. Your child can choose to have tuition within Biology, chemistry and physics or select a specific science. Each lesson is made tailored to your child, with past exam questions and the knowledge they require. They will learn how to apply their knowledge to each exam question, giving a scientific answer.

We ensure that students are reminded of the interesting, engaging content within GCSE Science exams. We provide tuition for Combined and Triple Science, for Foundation and Higher specifications. Our tutors are Science specialists who recognise the importance of using scientific terminology and fully understand how to teach your child to incorporate it into their own exam answers!

Your child can choose to have tuition with all 3 Sciences; Biology, Chemistry and Physics or select a specific science. Each lesson is made tailored to your child and their areas of weakness and need for improvement, using our principal resources of past exam papers and mark schemes to identify the exam structure and breakdown their content.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Finn had been helping my 11 year old with his English ready for his SATS. While he’s a bit of a Maths and Science whizz he has always lack enjoyment and confidence in English so was struggling somewhat.

My son has enjoyed working with Finn, he finds him fun and interesting and at the same time is clearly taking on board what he has been teaching him. He will now off his own back pick a word of the day to try and expand his vocabulary. In a recent parents evening I was told that his new found confidence in English is clear and that he is now getting more involved in class lessons rather than shying away and bumbling through. His quality of written work and correct use of punctuation has also come along a lot of the past few months. His teacher commented that the tutoring has certainly given him a boost and she expects him to go in and do well in his exams now.
